Battery Failure Enclosure
The CellVantage is an advanced battery failure test enclosure designed for synchrotron beamtime experiments, although not limited to this.
It facilitates controlled battery failure initiation via thermal (heating) or electrical (short circuit, overcharge) methods while enabling real-time imaging of structural and chemical changes inside the battery.
CellVantage is ideal for in-depth visualisation of failure dynamics under precise experimental conditions.

Customisation possible for your experiment requirements
The CellMod is a precision scoring fixture, engineered for research groups to score the outer casing of cylindrical batteries without puncturing them.
This modification ensures that when batteries undergo a controlled failure, the rupture begins at the predetermined weakened location, enabling consistence and repeatable failure behaviour.
MAIN UNIT
Precision drill enclosure with viewing window
Interchangeable drill bit
Battery fixed within holder and mounted to a stage
Separate electronics enclosure with user control of the drill assembly
E-STOP user shutdown
OPTIONAL EXTRAS
Gas ports for forced ventilation
Battery temperature recording, linked to safety cut-out
Drill bit variety
Battery Surface Scoring

The CellPen integrates up to 9 embedded thermocouples within a precision nail designed for penetration/puncture abuse testing of batteries (IEC 62133-2).
This setup allows measurements of detailed temperature profiles during mechanical puncture tests, delivering valuable thermal data correlated with the battery's failure progression.
CellPen enhances the understanding of thermal responses in abuse testing scenarios.
MAIN UNIT
8mm (OD) x 120mm stainless steel nail, 60deg tip angle
Up to 9 embedded thermocouple slots (including one at the nail tip)
OPTIONAL EXTRAS
Thermocouples
Temperature recording module
Software - Data acquisition
Battery Penetration Nail
