Battery Failure Enclosure

CELLVANTAGE

The CellVantage is an advanced battery failure test enclosure designed specifically for synchrotron beamtime experiments, although not limited to this.

It facilitiates controlled battery failure initation via thermal (heating) or electrical (short circuit, overcharge) methods while enabling real-time imaging of structural and chemical changes inside the battery.

CellVantage is ideal for in-depth visualisation of failure dynamics under precise experimental conditions.

Battery Surface Scoring

CELLMOD

The CellMod is a precision scoring fixture, engineered for research groups to score the outer casing of cylindrical batteries without puncturing them.

This modification ensures that when batteries undergo a controlled failure, the rupture begins at the predetermined weakened location, enabling consistence and repetable failure behvaiour.

  • Precision drill enclosure with viewing window

  • Battery held in a holder and mounted to a stage

Battery penetration nail with 9x TC embedded

CELLIGNITE - PENETRATION PROBE

The CellIgnite integrates up to 9 embedded thermocouples within a specially designed nail based on standard nails used in penetration abuse testing.

This setup allows measurements of detailed temperature profiles during mechanical penetration tests, delivering valuable thermal data correlated with the battery's failure progression.

CellIgnite enhances the understanding of thermal responses in abuse testing scenarios.
